| In
this section are presented particular creations, ranging from furniture
elements to design objects and genuine art works, created in collaboration
with architects and artists. A prototype becomes a model for experimentation,
study and the application of materials, forms or innovative solutions.
Its aim is either the successive production of a certain number of examples
or the production of unique, unrepeatable pieces.
Oriente
chaise longue
The new Oriente chaise longue, a kind of deck chair, is based on a design
of the 1930s. It has been perfected in its structure and in the quality
of the materials used. Its very refined lines makes it ideal for interiors,
too. Built by hand in beechwood, it has been treated by the impregnation
process. Its fabric...raw linen or kilim...can be easily removed for cleaning.
The weight of one”s body is sufficient to fold the chair or to adjust
it. The deck chair can assume various positions, and can become almost
horizontal.
Even the smallest details of this chair have been carefully created. It
stands out especially for its characteristics of functionality, robustness
and elegance. The dimensions of the chair are 125x18x70 cm. Its weight
is 9.7 kg.
“Yesteryear lamp”
The new extendible Yesteryear lamp associates, with the indispensable
aspects that every home needs, the warmth that only wood can provide,
in a small masterpiece of Venetian art. This, also, has been constructed
by hand in Italian cherry or walnut wood. With a height of 137 cm, it
can be extended to up to 191 cm. The lamp is 80 cm wide and weighs 6.8
kilos.
“La Venexiana” chair
Thus, our chair strives to be a compendium of images which play together
without having any precise historical coordinates: a composition of memories,
past and present, naturalistic fantasies, but also complex constructive
technologies. The methodology of the chair”s construction is as
follows: it has been built with layers of birch plywood, a hand-carved
wooden pearl shell , a wooden column, turned by hand on a lathe, 83 cm
high, 44 cm wide and 50 cm deep, for a total weight of 6.8 kg. The chair
is covered with traditional pad-applied lacquer, and is decorated with
gold leaf and agate stones.
Dominoes
A table game, created in 26 numbered examples in 2006. The dominoes were
made by coupling of two woods (maple and ebony), held together by brass
hinges. The numbers on the dominoes were achieved by inserting ebony cylinders.
The dominoes, treated on the surface with oil, are stored in a birchwood
box with an ebony handle. They are accompanied by some reflections of
the philosopher Massimo Cacciari.
Solitaire
A table game, produced as a limited edition, carved out of a single block
of solid wood. This is available in several types of wood or in the coupling
of woods at high pressure. Various kinds of veneer have been employed.
A perimetral cutting, pleasant to the touch, confers softness to the perimetre,
allows the easy changing of place of the game pieces and provides a space
where to put the marbles eliminated from the game. The glass marbles,
made by hand, may be selected all in the same colour (several tones are
available), or in a combination of different colours according to the
desired effect and to the wood chosen for the game pieces.
Scacciapensieri
A childrens” game, based on a model from the early 20th century
Tavolo Table
A table with a surface board in golden teak and tapering borders in wenge”.
The base elements are in unrefined untreated steel, destined to rust with
time and to gradually change colour.
